This is a piece I illustrated for Mitch Hyman , creator of "BUBBA ; the Redneck Werewolf" who came up with the design idea for a proposed T-shirt based on his comic book character of the same name.
The layout was pretty basic but some of the details posed a challenge to me as I was developing the art. The circular shape of the seal and placing the letters within it was particularly challenging.
"Cracker County" is the mythical locale in which the comic book and it's characters are based. The Rebel flag design in the background is somewhat faded to enhance the foreground art , this was done by simply applying the dodge tool on Photoshop.
The Wolf prints and the shattered bone in place of the letter "I" was added onto the image after the initial art was completed.
The "Dog Tag" dangling off the seal was an added detail to refer to the character's former occupation and to further illustrate the seals purpose. The phrase " We Hunt Curs" was added by Mitch Hyman as a tag line.
If you look closely on the Tag you'll see that it says "Founded 1996",this refers to the character's first appearance in the pages of the independent horror comic "Bound In Darkness" which Mitch was a contributing writer for.
The hat is a tribute to the late Dale Earnhardt Sr.
