This was originally a convention sketch that I did for some clients last year at a convention (Sadly I can't remember which one). Not long after, they tracked me down so that I may re-draw the piece, this time adding inks and eventually colors as well. It was quite the challenge placing a large fellow like the HULK within the tiny dimensions of a theme park ride, in this case a famous one; "The Mad Tea Party" ride at Disneyworld or as it's come to be better known- the "Spinning Tea Cups".
I did a little research on the ride so that I can replicate the designs on the cups more accurately and also the layout of the attraction in general. You'll also notice additional Disney park souvenir items like Mouse bars, Balloons, and character hats.
"Green Genes" is not alone on the ride; look closely and you'll spot some familiar faces like Batman, Superman, Plastic Man, Spider-Man, a small number of sick and horrified children and of course the ever lovin blue eyed Thing.
The guys at D&B Comics commissioned the piece to make promotional prints for their business.
Originally the HULK was in a slightly different position, one that looked more natural in accordance with riding the attraction comfortably. After a suggestion from an artist friend of mine (Scott Shoemaker), I repositioned the character to reflect his discomfort and to further enhance his scale in comparison with everything else in the picture.
