This was an illustration that I was commissioned to do for a local area gamer's fanzine called "Rogue's Gallery". The fanzine was a periodical, small press publication which provided articles, tips, and strategies on surviving in the world of Fantasy, and Science Fiction role playing games.

The client pretty much gave me a free hand in coming up with the subject matter, he only suggested a fantasy based character(s) for the piece.

As part of the agreement, I only asked that an advertisement for my art and services be contained within the issue that I was providing the piece for.

The Dragon's carcass was placed lying on it's back to pose more of a challenge, along with additional weaponry that the slayer is carrying, thus accurately describing the piece ("Overkill").

The art was eventually used as the cover for the issue.
