"A FanBoy's Dream" (2005)

The origin of this piece started quite differently from it's finished version. The female character was originally intended to be "Fairchild" from the teenage team "Gen-13", but by the time I got around to actually doing the layout, Gen-13 was not the national sensation it once was.

The switch to Power Girl was purely to add to the physical comedic appearance of the piece especially on the part of the young boy. I felt that a more voluptuous female figure would bring something more to the art, making the boy's reaction more believable.

The digital color work was done by a fellow artist ,Scott Shoemaker, who is also the inker/colorist on the sci-fi maxi series "SUPER-7" which I provided the pencils on.

One of the key inspirations for the piece came from the numerous conventions I attend annually, and the fans who dress up as their favorite characters... most notably the young ladies.
